Final Decision on Artist

In our lesson (23rd September) we made our final decision on which artist to use in our music video. We have come to the decision that we will use Joanna Mintern.

Reasons why we decided to pick her over other artists....

• She attends the same college as us and I have good contact with her, which means it will be easier to organise and arrange things.
  
• Joanna has already constructed a video of one of her songs, however it is a basic production. This video enables us to see already how she portrays herself as an artist. She used black and white effect, which is what we already decided on, therefore we realised we have similar creative ideas to her already.
  
• All of her songs are professionally recorded so the quality of them is excellent.
• She has seven songs to pick from, giving us more scope.She isn't signed to any record label, therefore thrilled and enthusiastic that we chose to use her. Hopefully this will mean she's prepared to work alongside us and monitor what we are doing and add in any valuable input into how she visualizes the video.
  

We have listened to the six songs and have decided on 'In your Bones'. We are going to get hold of her and ask her for the lyrics to the song so we can start to inter prate the meaning behind the song and consequently be able to visualise how it's going to look.
