Initial idea (1st Lesson):
We have discussed in a group what genre of music we like best. I (Katrina) like all genres of music and happy to work with any genre, the rest of the group also agreed, therefore our decision on a slow/emotive/acoustic vibe was based more upon practicality. For example, we could not pull off a Hip-Hop/R n b AS as they are stereotypically high budget productions, with effects we would not be able to achieve on the software we have access to. Although we mainly decided on acoustic audio due to practicality and ease we also watched videos from youtube of mainstream acoustic artists. We noticed that all acoustic videos had a strong narrative, in contrast to the mellow sounds, which we agreed was a nice equal balance. It is easy then to pull messages from the lyrics and transcribe them into the visual images to create a suited narrative.
This is Luke Potters video called The Girl.

This is a local artist that is a possibility to use. He wrote the song himself, which means we could gain a deep understanding to the lyrics of the song, therefore being able to create a video which relates to the song itself.
Joanna Mintern
We have also found a female artist (Joanna Mintern) who is also willing for us to use her music, however she does have an advantage over Luke Potter, as she has a number of songs we can choose from. Her music is of a good quality and all of her recordings are in Mp3 format so its practical to use her. We still haven't decided which artist we will use yet, however we will make a definite decision by 23rd September.

Tiffany Eugenio
This is a video of Tiffany Eugenio who we found on You Tube. She does covers of songs by artists such as Rhianna, Black eyed peas and Elton John. We think her voice and style is right for what were looking for (calm/ emotive music) A downside is that she lives in Canada and it would be extremely hard to use somebody else for filming, however we have contacted her to seek permission and are waiting on a reply.
Here is a screen shot of the email we sent her via My Space...
